![]() The snare stand is a '60s Ludwig flat base model. The floor tom is 14" X 14"Īlso included with the kit is a '60s Camco Deluxe Bass Drum Pedal and a Camco Deluxe Hi Hat Stand. The snare drum is a Gretsch "Name Brand" 14" X 5 1/2" model and features the snap-in drum key holder. All four drums have the orange and white paper tags. The drums feature 6-ply molded shells with silver inner sealant. The 20" and the 18" show some slight keyholing to the holes but are otherwise in good shape. Included with the kit are a vintage '60s Avedis Zildjian 20" ride, Avedis Zildjian 18" crash and a pair of Avedis Zildjian 14" hats. ![]() The vintage satin flame wrap shows some occasional scratching but is tight and looks very good. ![]() The internal mufflers are still attached and functioning. The die-cast rims, t-rods & claws and lug casings are bright and look amazing. The snares are new and the strainer has been replaced by a new version of the Gretsch Micro-Sensitive strainer. The bass drum heads are original to the kit. The heads on the snare drum and toms have been replaced by Remo Ambassador heads. This amazing mid-'60s drum set, in rare Aqua Satin Flame, has just recently been restored after being in storage for decades. Many musicians still consider the "Progressive Jazz" kit to be the "Holy Grail" of vintage drums. The Gretsch "Progressive Jazz" drum kit was the instrument of choice for many of the legendary jazz drummers of the '50s, '60s and '70s including Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Mel Lewis and many others.
